First, it has an adjustable strap at the neck which I prefer over having my hair get caught in a tie.
Second, it has a breast level pocket which is good for keeping recipes or slips of paper free from anything you carry in the larger pockets below.
Third, the material on the pockets is angled to contrast with the body which I think looks pretty sharp.
It's made from a polyester/cotton blend and is soft but durable.
